Wednesday, April 22, 2009New business on the block…

I’m so excited to announce that I have started a new business as an Independent Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics! I joined on Easter weekend and have been working to set things up over the past 10 days. I’m having my business debut party at my house in a little under 2 weeks and I really hope all my friends will attend to support me.
I decided to join because I really needed to do something for me. I had basically become a depressed hermit and really needed to get out into the world of adults and do something completely unrelated to my children. I have only been going for 10 days, but the women I have met have been so amazingly supportive and seem genuinely interested in my business becoming a success.
So here’s my new business website. I hope you all will take a look around and see what MK has to offer. All the products come with a 100% satisfaction guarantee, are not tested on animals, and are fantastic quality.

There Ali, are you happy now that I’ve updated and there’s no longer a bloody lung at the top of the page?
Monday, April 13, 20095cm. fir tree removed from patient’s lung

A five-centimeter fir tree has been found in the lung of a man who complained he had a strong pain in his chest and was coughing blood.
The 28-year-old patient, Artyom Sidorkin, came to a hospital in the city of Izhevsk in Central Russia last week, Komsomolskaya Pravda daily reports.
Doctors x-rayed his chest and found a tumor in one of the lungs. Suspecting cancer, they made a decision to perform biopsy, but when they cut the tissue, they were amazed to see green needles in the cut.
“I blinked three times, and thought I was seeing things. Then I called the assistant to have a look,” says Vladimir Kamashev, doctor at the Udmurtian Cancer Center.
The five-centimeter branch was removed from the patient’s body.
“They told me my coughing blood was not caused by any disease,” Sidorkin says.
“It was the needles poking the capillaries. It really hurt a lot. But I never felt like I had an alien object inside of me.”
It is obvious that a five-centimeter branch is too large to be inhaled or swallowed, doctors say. They suggest that the patient might have inhaled a small bud, which then started to grow inside his body.
Meanwhile, the piece of lung with the little fir tree has been preserved for further study.

Thursday, April 9, 2009Police: Man cut and stabbed after flatulence fight
WACO, Texas – Police said a fight over flatulence left one man stabbed and another facing an assault charge. A statement Wednesday said police were called to a motel where several men from the Houston area were sharing a room. Police said a 35-year-old man allegedly passed gas in the room Tuesday night.
Police said one of the other men became upset, picked up a knife and threw it at the 35-year-old man, who was cut in the leg. The suspect was accused of then stabbing the man in the chest.
The 35-year-old was taken to the hospital and police said he was treated for non-life threatening wounds.
The alleged attacker was arrested and faces an aggravated assault charge.

Thursday, April 9, 2009NY pastor accused of filching funds for Botox
(04-07) 12:11 PDT New York (AP) — A former pastor in New York City is accused of stealing tens of thousands of dollars from his parish to pay for plastic surgery, Botox injections and prescription drugs. The Rev. William Blasingame cited medical reasons when he resigned in January from St. Paul’s Memorial Episcopal Church on Staten Island.
He is accused of stealing $84,537 over three years. The money was earmarked for parishioners in need and the upkeep of church grounds.
Blasingame could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted of second-degree grand larceny and possession of stolen property.
Attorney James Hasson calls the allegations a “bad mistake” and says there’s “some kind of a vendetta” against his client.
He’s due back in court May 12.

Tuesday, April 7, 2009Yep, he’s a keeper!

It’s our 8th wedding anniversary today and James brought these home for me tonight - 2 dozen red roses! We couldn’t get a babysitter so we could go to dinner tonight, which turned out to be a good thing because I am sick. We did find one for Thursday night though so we will be going out then!
Thursday, April 2, 2009Chicks On Sticks

Doesn’t that sound like the title of a bad porno?
Well, I’m no Bakerella, but I dragged the boys to a baking supply store this morning and tried my hand at cake pops this afternoon. I definitely need more practice with getting the coating smooth and rolling the balls a little more evenly, but I got them done and they’re recognizable as chicks, so at least that’s something!
One thing I did change was I didn’t make them with cake inside, instead, I made Oreo truffles inside them. They essentially have the same consistency as crumbled cake mixed with frosting, which is what the directions called for. As a complete amateur, I think they turned out ok!
Sunday, March 29, 2009Lazy Sunday Night Dinner…
After an afternoon out and about, culminating in an hour running around at the park, the boys were tired so we did a lazy dinner in front of the tv watching Curious George and Clifford the Big Red Dog. Chicken nuggets with ketchup and fruit cup - dinner of champions. ![]()

Lately Josh has also been refusing to sit in his high chair frequently so we went to get him a tray of his own but could not find one like the metal one with collapsible legs so we ended up getting the huge blue plastic one but it’s a bit tall for Josh so we switched the trays and both seem ok now.

If anyone happens to know where I can get another metal tray (preferably with Cars characters on it if possible but anything that’s not girly will do), please let me know!

Friday, March 27, 2009Police: Man adds meth to wife’s water to give her energy

MORTON, Wash. — A Lewis County man faces assault and child endangerment charges after detectives say he made his wife drink water spiked with meth.
The woman was breast-feeding their three-month-old child at the time. She said she did not know the meth was in the water.
The 34-year-old man told investigators he hoped the meth would give her energy to clean the house.
The man is currently locked up in the Lewis County jail on another pending charge. Detectives said they learned of the meth incident while listening to the inmates phone calls.
