Hi, my name is Sarah and I'm an expat Australian living in Seattle with my British husband and American-born English-Australian sons Adam and Joshua.
Sunday, November 16, 2008Things Adam has done in the past 2 weeks…
* Spilled a whole cup of pineapple juice right in the middle of his bed the day after I had just washed the sheets and put clean linens on his bed.
* Attacked our brand new Cal king size memory foam mattress ($$$$$) with a blue permanent marker.
* Attacked our duvet with a blue permanent marker.
* Emptied all his freshly folded clothes out of the wardrobe, pulled all the bedding off his bed, and emptied an entire new packet of wipes.
* Hit and/or pushed over Josh countless times. One time he actually broke skin on Josh’s forehead and gave him a bruise there as well.
* Pushed my expensive Pottery Barn glass terrarium, that my father bought me, off the entryway table whereupon it exploded into millions of pieces.
We’ve had to re-gate the kitchen so the boys can’t get in there anymore because even though all the cupboards and drawers are locked, they still get into mischief. When does this parenting deal get better? Am I being punk’d?

Oh my goodness Sarah! Sounds like Adam has been keeping you quite busy lately!! I agree that many days I feel like there must be hidden cameras filming my day because only that would explain the craziness of it! 
And I only have 1 boy!!!

You know, as someone thinking about having kids myself at some point, hearing things like that do NOT make it sound attractive

oh Adam!! I bet as a teen he will be really mellow. He is getting all the naughty stuff out of his system.

Well he has been up to some mischief!!! I sometimes wonder the same thing about when will it get different/better. I can be cooking or something, hear giggling from the lounge, i come in and they are (miss 5 and 4) doing headstands on the lounge…..i have told them a million times but obviously that is not enough!!!!
Being a mummy is tiring!
